Lincoln Planning Review in transition

2012-03-14

The Lincoln Planning Review (LPR) has successfully completed a transition to Open Journal Systems (OJS).  We are the only student led journal in New Zealand using this operating system, so we are feeling pretty cool right now.

At the core of this publication is the aim to create a supportive environment with opportunities for developing professional skills such as editing, critical reflection of work, and the art of effective communication.  Working together towards the common goal of producing a high quality publication and encouraging innovation in the planning world is exciting, even if you’re only mildly nerdy.

The LPR Editorial Team is grateful for the guidance and support from Lincoln University library staff Roger Dawson, Sarah Tritt and online services manager, Dorje McKinnon.  They have helped us to become familiar with the software, making for a smooth transition.  Thanks are also due to the editorial team of Landscape Review who have blazed a clear path for us to follow.

Next on the horizon is expanding our network to support not only students, but graduates and young professionals interested in a culture of continuing education.  We also have landscape architecture students making a contribution so it will be interesting to see how this all evolves.

Enjoy!
